Our Services

At Yorkson Creek Veterinary Hospital, we provide comprehensive veterinary care for dogs and cats at every stage of life. From wellness exams and vaccinations to elective, dental, and specialty surgeries, our experienced team is committed to providing personalized care focused on your pet’s health, comfort, and well-being.

Spay & Neuter Services

Spaying and neutering are routine veterinary surgeries that can provide important long-term health benefits for dogs and cats while preventing unwanted litters. At Yorkson Creek Veterinary Hospital, our team provides professional spay and neuter services with your pet’s comfort and safety at the center of their care.

For female pets, spaying can help prevent reproductive infections and reduce the risk of certain cancers. Neutering male pets can reduce the risk of prostate and testicular conditions while also helping decrease behaviours such as roaming, fighting, mounting, and spraying.

Benefits of spaying or neutering your pet may include:

  • Preventing unwanted pregnancies and litters
  • Reducing the risk of certain reproductive diseases and cancers
  • Helping reduce roaming and other hormone-related behaviours
  • Supporting a longer, healthier life
  • Helping control pet overpopulation

Both dog and cat spay and neuter surgeries are performed under anesthesia with careful patient monitoring throughout the procedure. Our veterinary team follows established surgical and safety protocols to help keep your pet comfortable before, during, and after surgery.

Dental Services

Imagine what your mouth would feel like if you never brushed your teeth or visited the dentist. For many dogs and cats, poor dental health can be just as painful. Dental or periodontal disease is one of the most commonly diagnosed health problems in pets, making routine veterinary dental care an important part of their overall health.

Common signs of dental disease include:

  • Yellow or brown buildup, also known as tartar, on the teeth
  • Red, swollen, or bleeding gums
  • Bad breath
  • Excessive drooling
  • Changes in eating or chewing habits
  • Pawing at the face
  • Loose teeth
  • Changes in mood or behaviour

Even if your dog or cat does not show these symptoms, we recommend scheduling a veterinary dental exam at least once a year. Bacteria and food debris can accumulate around the teeth and, when left untreated, damage the surrounding gums and bone. This deterioration can lead to irreversible periodontal disease, tooth loss, and the need for oral surgery.

Our pet dental services in Langley include dental exams and professional teeth cleaning for dogs and cats. If a tooth is severely damaged, infected, or causing pain, our veterinary team may also recommend a dog or cat tooth extraction to protect your pet’s health and comfort.

Dental disease can also affect more than your pet’s mouth. Bacteria may enter the bloodstream and contribute to infections affecting organs such as the kidneys, liver, lungs, and heart. A physical exam and appropriate laboratory testing can help determine whether an infection has spread.

Schedule your pet’s dental exam or teeth cleaning in Langley today. Our team can also show you how to brush your pet’s teeth and recommend foods, treats, and at-home care options that help reduce plaque and tartar buildup.

Pet Wellness & Preventive Care

Every stage of your pet’s life comes with different health needs. At Yorkson Creek Veterinary Hospital, our pet wellness services are designed to support puppies, kittens, adult pets, and seniors with preventive veterinary care tailored to their age, lifestyle, and individual health needs.

Regular wellness exams and vaccinations give our veterinary team an opportunity to monitor your dog or cat’s health, identify potential concerns early, and recommend preventive care that can help them enjoy a longer, healthier life.

Our wellness services may include:

  • Puppy and kitten wellness exams
  • Adult and senior pet checkups
  • Dog and cat vaccinations
  • Parasite testing and prevention
  • Routine diagnostic testing
  • Nutrition and behavioural guidance
  • Preventive dental recommendations
  • Age-appropriate health screenings

For puppies and kittens, early visits help establish a healthy foundation with vaccinations, parasite care, nutrition guidance, and routine exams. As pets mature, regular veterinary checkups become important for detecting changes that may not be immediately noticeable at home.

Senior pets may benefit from more frequent exams and diagnostic testing to monitor for age-related concerns such as arthritis, diabetes, heart disease, cancer, and kidney or liver conditions. Our team can develop a wellness plan based on your pet’s individual needs and life stage.

Give your pet proactive care at every stage of life. Contact Yorkson Creek Veterinary Hospital today to schedule a wellness exam or vaccination appointment.
